Plans change after a requisition is opened: a start date moves, the hiring manager changes, or the pay range is revised. You can update any section of an existing job requisition in Central Scribe StaffingManager without creating a new one, so the job description, postings, and candidates already attached to the role stay connected.
Before you begin
-
You must be an Owner, Admin, or Recruiter. Hiring Managers can view a requisition but cannot manage it.
-
Have the approved change ready (for example, a revised compensation band or a new hiring manager), so you can update the requisition once rather than in pieces.
To edit a job requisition
-
Select Jobs in the top navigation bar to open the Job openings list.
-
Find the requisition. Use the search box or the status dropdown to narrow the list if needed.
-
In the Actions column, select View details to open the requisition.
-
Select the three-dot menu (⋮) in the bar at the bottom of the screen, then select Edit job requisition.
-
On the Job requisition form, use the On this page navigation on the right to jump to the section you want to change.
-
Update the fields you need. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*) and must stay filled in.
-
Select Save and close to keep your changes. Select Close to leave the form without saving.

Note: The Lead recruiter field in the HR and recruiting team section is shown but can’t be changed on this form.
For guidance on completing each section, see Complete role details and Complete compensation and benefits.
Note: Changes to a requisition do not automatically rewrite documents that were already generated from it. If you change role details or compensation after the job description is approved, we recommend reopening the job description to bring it in line.
Tips
-
Make role and compensation changes before you create the job posting whenever possible.
-
If you are filling several openings or keeping a role open continuously, see Create bulk and evergreen requisitions.
-
If the role has been filled or cancelled, close the requisition instead of editing it.
